This award is to recognise the much appreciated hard work from our marvellous volunteers behind the scenes of tennis across Southland. Volunteers are one of the most important resources Tennis Southland has as local communities rely on many hours of effort by a few people to organise, co-ordinate and turn up!
Tennis Southland think it's incredibly important to acknowledge how much volunteers are valued within our sport and the six nominees this year have consistently stepped up and given their time and effort for the greater good of tennis in Southland.
Thank you all very much, you are all deserving of this award!

In recognition of the decades of dedication given to a sport he loved so much, Peter White was honoured this week with an ILT Southland Services to Sports Award. Beautifully accepted on his behalf by Pete’s wife Milly.

We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of Peter White yesterday at home with his beloved family. He lived a life filled with much joy passion and dedication, touching the lives of many who were fortunate to spend time in his presence. The tennis community mourn the loss of a wonderful tennis coach, mentor and friend. 'Such a sudden finish to his last match. He was preparing to fight it out in 5 sets but the line calls didn’t go his way'.
RIP Pete, you will live on forever in our hearts and memories. Our deepest sympathies to Milly and Emma.
