Better Tennis South - Pete White
Pete White cares about bringing you - the player- to the optimum tennis level you wish to achieve.
I started playing Tennis at age 10 in 1971 in Dunedin and used to find all sorts of reasons to get off school to head to the tennis courts and play.
In 1975 my family transferred to Palmerston North and I soon became a member of the Palmerston North Boys’ High Tennis squad who as a team of six dominated North and South Island school tennis for the four years I attended.
In the early 1980’s I was based in Sydney Australia travelling through Australia, Pacific Islands and Asia playing cash tournaments mainly on grass tennis courts.
In 1993 I became a level 2 Tennis Coach under the Tennis Australia coaching programme, which required two years training under a master coach prior to taking any examinations – a rigorous playing test was also conducted to ensure I could play all the strokes required in the modern game of tennis.
1994 to present day I have operated as a professional tennis coach in Southland the highlights of this time include: Commentating live Davis Cup Tennis worldwide, a high level of coaching involvement with players who have achieved US scholarship status, New Zealand representative status and most importantly understanding the needs of tennis players across all levels of the game.
I have a current certificate after completing a St John's First Aid Level One course.
